The Events Network allows people working in the events field within Local Government to come together to share information and to provide support.
Training and education is a priority for the group which is actively creating training opportunities for the network and working with training and educational institutions to design courses for event managers. The Special Interest Group strives to establish standards and processes which will create consistency across Councils, including permits and standards adhered to for the safe and successful management of events. It also works within and across other Special Interest Groups to ensure integration of knowledge, support and advice.
The group aims to be a central point for liaison with government, business and regulatory services, to share information in all areas of event management and become a recognised body for event information dispersal.
