A simulation-based team building, learning, and networking program using real local government themes.
The Australasian Management Challenge is an annual development program that provides real life problem solving experiences and produces outcomes that translate into relevant, tangible, and enduring benefits for people, teams, and organisations. It's also good fun, great value, and a hands-on approach to leadership development.
Since its establishment over 25 years ago, the Management Challenge has been at the forefront of professional development in local government across Australia and New Zealand. Many thousands of local government professionals have been given the opportunity to participate, grow, be challenged and learn alongside their team members and peers, and many past participants have subsequently gone on to senior management roles within local government.
The Management Challenge is a simulation-based team building, learning, and networking program using real local government themes – the types of issues a local government senior management team would likely face.
The teams are challenged to respond to a series of tasks in a unique, one-day, faced-paced, “pressure cooker” environment. Some tasks require written responses (such as a council report or recommendation document), while some will take the form of role plays or presentations. Teams are also scored based on observations of how well they display energy, synergy, creative thinking, and effectiveness.
