||Risk SIG Convenor, Diana McDonald, Risk Management Coordinator, Horsham Rural City Council
I wanted to become a SIG Convenor because I was interested in giving back to the Local Government Risk Management sector. I enjoy networking with other Local Government Risk Managers, improving our systems and contributing to the sector in any way that I can. I am proud of how our group has developed and this year we will focus on improvement sharing each of our challenges and learning from and supporting each other.
Risk SIG Convenor, David Taylor, Risk Coordinator, Stonnington City Council
I've been a part of the group for some time and I have enjoyed the forums which have been well organised and delivered. Given the opportunity, it seemed appropriate that i should now also contribute as a Convenor to the development and delivery to this specialist group. What I have enjoyed the most from being a member of the SIG, is meeting with other professional colleagues, which I would otherwise may not have ever met. The SIG provides an opportunity to discuss collective issues and provides support on how some things can be managed differently to a successful outcome. What I hope to achieve for the SIG is a focused forum for creative discussion on risk and exposure issues which are unique and relative to the Local Government environment. In a constantly changing political, technical and social landscape, this is a rapidly evolving issue for risk rofessionals to not only address the current known issues, but there is an expectation by the community that we will identify and develop strategy for emerging and potential issues.
