Project Management Framework Best Practices SIG Convenor,
Deb Strutt, Coordinator PMO, Darebin City Council

I became a SIG Convenor because best practice project management is what I live and breathe, so convening the PMF SIG seemed like a natural extension. I recently joined Darebin City Council to set up a PMO and am very keen to make contact with others undergoing similar experiences. I am a collaborator and gain great satisfaction from working with and empowering others. I’m particularly passionate about continuous improvement, striving for ‘better’ (than best) practice, knowledge-sharing and expanding networks to improve organisational learning. I see the PMF SIG as being the perfect space for that. I look forward to informative and supportive discussions during which we can share experiences, challenges and learnings.

Project Management Framework Best Practices SIG Convenor, Chris Albon, Project Coordinator, East Gippsland Shire Council

I became a SIG Convenor because I thought I could offer a different perspective coming from many years in private business to be a first-time Local Government participant. In this role, I hope to assist with the SIG becoming a ‘centre of/for excellence’ and a valuable resource for Councils in their path to establishing PMOs. I’ve worked around the country with Commonwealth Government positions, consulted to State Government and run my own company, so delving into Local Government should complete the cycle.
