Learning & Development SIG Convenor, Nerida Wood
Learning and Development Advisor, Yarra  Ranges Council

I came a SIG Convenor because I saw it was a great opportunity to work closely with other organisational development practitioners. To facilitate knowledge sharing and discussion about new and emerging learning and development practices that create positive outcomes for our organisations is a great motivator for me. We know the expectations of learners in our workplaces are changing. Technology, flexible work practices and the growing preference for experiential learning, knowledge sharing and peer coaching are hugely influencing the way we facilitate learning and development. I hope to play an active role in ensuring the Learner and Development SIG continues to have really strong debates on how to embed adaptable and effective ways of learning and collaborating in our organisations. When I’m not at my desk I enjoy time with my young family and my interest of sustainable living, travel and yoga.
