About the SIG
The Executive & Personal Assistant Network SIG is being re-established. This Special Interest Group will provide learning, continuous improvement, business support ideas and professional development opportunities to Executive Assistants and Personal Assistants within Local Government.

Attendees should be Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants to Chief Executive Officers, Mayors and Councillors, General Managers, Directors and Managers, Team Leaders and Team Coordinators.

After completing the City of Casey's Aspiring Leaders program in 2016, I was looking for a new challenge for my professional development. I saw the opportunity to become a SIG Convenor to further develop my network and build relationships across the sector. I love to connect with people and connect people with each other, so to challenge myself to do this outside my own workplace and within the sector was very appealing.
What I enjoy the most from being part of a SIG is the variety of guest speakers, and the opportunity to share issues and challenges with each other over the year. This has been a highlight with the bonus of further developing and strengthening relationships.
What I hope to achieve as Convenor in 2017, is to build on the wonderful re-invigoration of the SIG group from the 2016 Convenors, and for Jacqui and myself to carry the baton and create inspiring events with personal and professional developments opportunities.

I have thoroughly enjoyed attending the SIG meetings throughout 2016. So when the opportunity to become a Convenor was up for grabs, I thought why not! Why not push myself out of my comfort zone. I do it at the gym but not very often in the workplace! So I have decided to take this on board as a great opportunity to enhance and learn new skills, strengthen some of my weaknesses, work on my self-confidence and to prove to myself that I can do it. I haven't done something like this before so it's an exciting new challenge!
It's hard to say what I have enjoyed the most from being part of the SIG as I have thoroughly enjoyed everything, including the drive to the different venues (I don't get out much!) It's arriving and having a coffee and chat, it's all about networking and getting to know everyone. I love hearing about the different aspects of each other's jobs, the pros and cons, and just the sense of belonging to a group where we can open up and share information that you wouldn't normally be privy to.
In 2017 what I'd like to achieve are meetings where SIG members can take something positive away with them - whether it's relatable to their personal life or their daily work. I hope everyone enjoys and can find something useful about attending the meetings and that we continue to partake and support our SIG. I want to achieve a great outcome.
