About the SIG
This SIG operates as a forum to support Local Government arts management and development activities. Delegates from all Local Government authorities across Victoria are invited to participate in discussions on topics relevant to the arts and culture portfolios.
The group aims to meet four times a year. Some of the issues focused on include:

- Share ideas, knowledge and achievements both within and outside the SIG, for example with other SIGs and relevant stakeholders
- Network and exchange ideas between Councils
- Provide input and representation to other levels of government and industry on opportunities or challenges (when relevant)
- Establish information on training opportunities
- Contract Management
- Grant Management
- Art and Heritage
- Indigenous Arts
- Art Participation
- Public Art and other matters as they arise

I took on the role of SIG Convenor because it was a great opportunity to work with a collection of staff representing different views. It also gives me the chance to network with other professionals and discuss issues as they arise. This year I hope to elevate discussions about policy, process and problem solving and to continue to invite an eclectic mix of external professionals to present.
