The 2017 LGPro Women’s Network Dinner was held on Thursday 22 June at Melbourne Park Function Centre, Batman Avenue starting at 6.30pm with pre-dinner drinks.
The dinner is a popular event on the Local Government calendar and provides a great opportunity for women and men working at all levels to expand their networks and share ideas with colleagues in the sector. Many Councils take the opportunity to book full tables as a reward for their staff.
Guest speaker at this year’s dinner is Anna Brown, a staunch advocate for LGBTI equality who has worked in a range of roles including advisor to the Victorian Government LGBTI Taskforce, Director of Legal Advocacy at the Human Rights Law Centre, and Senior Solicitor of the Victorian Government’s Solicitor’s Officer.
Another highlight of the evening is the presentation of the winner of the Sally Isaac Memorial Scholarship Fund Award which recognises women, both in Local Government and beyond, 35 years and under who have demonstrated achievements in improving community life.
Keynote speaker: Anna Brown
