The 2018 LGPro Social Media Conference will be held on Wednesday 9 May at CQ Functions, 113 Queen Street, Melbourne.
The theme of this year’s conference is Making Social Media Engagement Matter. Social media is no longer new in Local Government so the focus of the theme will explore what constitutes meaningful engagement, content strategy and what the value is behind it.
Further information about the conference will be made available in March.
Calling for expressions of interest for Lightning Talks at the 2018 Social Media Conference
Due to the popularity of the Lightning Talks at our previous Social Media Conferences, this year we will be incorporating these talks into the main program of the conference and are calling for expressions of interest from Councils interested in being involved in 2018. Individuals are invited to present on an issue that has generated a great deal of engagement and how this has been managed to generate value to both Council and the community (ie strategies and tools employed, what was particularly useful, the challenges encountered, how they were overcome and the learnings gleaned from the whole experience). These talks will be scheduled in the program after afternoon tea and presenters will be allocated ten minutes presentation time. There may be scope for presenters to stay on and participate in a panel discussion at the end of the day.
Lightning talks provide the opportunity for those attending the session to broadly learn about innovative ways councils are managing engagement online and how this is benefitting both them and the communities they serve. If you are interested in taking part, please complete the expression of interest form in the link below and email it to email@example.com by Thursday 29 March 2018. For further information please contact Diana Pawluk, Manager Events on (03) 9268 6404.
