2018 Annual Conference this week

We are looking forward to seeing all of those who have registered for our 2018 Annual Conference this week. We have received a fantastic response from the sector to the conference which will be held on Wednesday afternoon 21 February and all day Thursday 22 February culminating with a dinner where the winners of the 2018 LGPro Awards for Excellence will be announced.

Submission on Essential Services Commission (ESC) draft proposal

We have registered disappointment with the quality of ESC draft proposal on setting a Local Government efficiency factor. Our submission criticises the proposal’s lack of intellectual rigour and the limited understanding it displays about Local Government.

Secondment program extended to all officers

Due to popular demand, our Sector Secondment program is becoming available to all officers working in Local Government. Officers from all levels are encouraged to take advantage of this service, which facilitates job-swaps between staff and assists Councils to fill short-medium term vacancies.

Become a Mentor in 2018

This year’s Mentoring program commences in March, and we’re looking for both Mentors and Mentees to join the team. This prestigious program helps new leaders in Local Government build their careers, while giving experienced officers the chance to develop their leadership & mentoring skills.

Sally Isaac Memorial Scholarship Fund Award

Nominations for the 2018 Sally Isaac award will be open from 13 March. The award is open to young women under 35 in Victoria who have made a significant contribution to their community. The winner of the Sally Isaac award receives a $10,000 scholarship for study in Australia or overseas.
